Water loss in irrigation canals is one of the key factors affecting the efficiency of water distribution to agricultural areas. This study aims to analyze the difference in water loss between unlined earth canals and stone masonry–lined canals in the Gebong Irrigation Network, West Lombok Regency. The research employed a field experimental approach using the inflow–outflow method to measure inflow (Qin), outflow (Qout), and water loss (Loss). The results show that the earth canal experienced an average water loss of 2.4 m³ or 5.05%, while the stone masonry canal showed a lower average loss of 1.36 m³ or 2.78%. Statistical analysis using Welch’s t-test indicated that the difference was not significant in a two-tailed test (p = 0.1429), but significant in a one-tailed test (p = 0.0715), with the earth canal exhibiting higher water loss compared to the stone-lined canal. These findings demonstrate that stone masonry lining is more effective in reducing seepage than unlined earth canals. The results provide a scientific basis for irrigation rehabilitation planning and the selection of appropriate lining materials to improve the efficiency of irrigation water delivery
