Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Guided Inquiry Learning Model on the science process skills of fourth-grade students in IPAS at SD Negeri 060883 Medan Petisah during the 2026/2027 academic year. The study was motivated by students’ low science process skills, particularly in observing, formulating problems, collecting data, and drawing conclusions. A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method and a One Group Pretest-Posttest design was employed. The sample consisted of 27 fourth-grade students selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected using tests, questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The results revealed that the mean pretest score increased from 62.59 to 87.85 on the posttest, representing an improvement of 25.26 points. The hypothesis test using the Paired Sample t-Test produced a t-value of -11.208 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. These findings indicate that the Guided Inquiry Learning Model has a significant positive effect on students’ science process skills in IPAS learning.
