Conflicts or disputes can occur between individuals, groups, or between individuals and groups. This research aims to explain the process of non-litigation dispute resolution through mediation by the Bale Sangkep Desa (BSD) in Sintung Village. The focus of the study includes the role of the Bale Sangkep Desa in the dispute resolution process and the forms of outcomes produced by the Bale Sangkep Desa. The method used is empirical legal research with a socio-anthropological juridical approach, based on national legal provisions to review the implementation and obstacles in the field.
The data collected consists of primary and secondary data. The research findings indicate that the process of non-litigation dispute resolution at BSD is carried out based on local wisdom that has been applied since 2013. Bale Sangkep Desa plays a primary role as a mediator in resolving disputes at the village level, particularly in Sintung Village. The form of outcomes from mediation at the Bale Sangkep Desa is a peace agreement formalized in a statement letter or agreement letter between the parties. This research provides an understanding of the implementation of non-litigation dispute resolution and the contribution of Bale Sangkep Desa in creating peace within the community.
